Reflexology in Watford, Hertfordshire

About me

I was born in Nairobi and resided there until the age of 12. In 2000, my parents made the decision to relocate to London with the aim of providing a more promising future for me and my two brothers.

I attended Canons High School for my GCSE and later transferred to Kingsbury High School for my A Levels. Mathematics quickly became my favourite subject, prompting my decision to pursue it further at university. Consequently, I earned a 2:1 in B.Sc Mathematics from Nottingham Trent University.

After graduating, I found myself uncertain about my career path. I opportunistically secured a position at NHS England, where I worked for four years before transitioning into Practice Management.

In 2013, I started working as a Practice Manager at a GP Surgery in London. This experience has been immensely rewarding and enjoyable, providing me with valuable insights into business operations.

While I am thankful for the opportunities in Primary Care, which I believe is the backbone of our NHS, I am driven to achieve more. My goal is to establish my own business.

Why I chose to qualify as a reflexologist

I chose to qualify as a reflexologist and open my own business due to a longstanding passion for complementary therapies and a personal journey of experiencing the positive effects of various forms of massage and reflexology. The journey from my early years in Nairobi to my experiences in London, particularly within the healthcare sector, has cultivated an appreciation for the interconnected nature of physical and mental wellness.

My academic journey, particularly my focus on Mathematics during my undergraduate studies at Nottingham Trent University, instilled in me a disciplined and analytical mindset. However, upon graduation, I found myself at a crossroads in my career. It was during this period of reflection that I seized the opportunity to work at NHS England, where I spent four years gaining valuable insights into healthcare operations.

The shift into Practice Management at a GP Surgery in 2013 marked a pivotal moment in my professional journey. This role not only provided me with valuable insights into healthcare but also deepened my appreciation for the holistic aspects of healthcare. During this period, I became increasingly fascinated by reflexology and its potential to promote overall health by stimulating the body's natural healing processes.

Initially, I wanted to learn more about its history and techniques, however as I progressed in my studies and began administering treatments, I witnessed the profound positivity and relaxation experienced by clients. This firsthand joy and the tangible benefits of reflexology sessions fueled my enthusiasm and inspired a deeper commitment to the practice.

In August 2019, I successfully completed an A.B.C. accredited course with the London School of Reflexology, leading to my qualification as a Reflexologist. The recognition of this course by the Association of Reflexologists (AOR) and my subsequent full membership with them emphasise my dedication to maintaining high standards, adhering to a strict code of practice, ensuring comprehensive insurance coverage and continuing professional development.
